ANNUAL MEETING OF THE OUTLAW TRAIL SCENIC BYWAY

The 6th annual meeting of the Outlaw Trail Scenic Byway was held at the Butte Community Center on Tuesday evening, April 17, 2007. President Jane Brewster called the meeting to order with a welcome and introduction of members. Following the secretary and treasurer’s reports, election of officers was held. Greta Stewart, O’Neill, will be President, Chris Kreycik, Niobrara, Vice-president; and Sally Snowe, Wynot, Treasurer.

Plans for the National Day of the Cowboy were discussed and finalized. Two events will be held consisting of a traditional cowboy meal, tour and stories and cowboy songs by Wally Bazyn. The first event on the Outlaw Trail is Friday, July 20, at the Kreycik Riverview Ranch, Niobrara, at 4 PM. The second one is on Saturday, July 21st, at the Mills Hall at Mills at 11 AM. Twyla Witt, Byways & Tourism Development Consultant discussed the Kansas-Nebraska Byways meeting she, Mary Rose Pinkelman, and four other Nebraska Byways attended on April 11 & 12. The Nebraska Travel and Tourism Spring Meet is Tuesday, May 1, at the Holiday Inn Downtown, Lincoln. The NETA brochure swap is May 10 at Lexington.

The May meeting will be on Tuesday, May 15th, at the Corps of Discovery Welcome Center, on Highway 81, south of Yankton, SD., at 10 AM and the June meeting will be held Tuesday, June 15th, at St. James Marketplace at 10 AM.

Wally Bazyn, Valentine provided the evening’s entertainment with his stories and songs of the cowboy after the meeting.
